Ole Skrukrud, eldest son of Ole and Ingeborg (Romsaas) Skrukrud, and brother of Anton O. Skrukrud was born in Gudbrandsdalen, Norway, and came to America with his parents in 1866 and located with them in Fillmore county. In 1879 he came to Renville county and settled on 40 acres of railroad land in section 6, Ericson township. That same fall he returned to Fillnore county and there remained until the spring of 1880, when he returned to his holdings in this county, his brother Anton O. coming with him. They worked together for two years when Ole, on account of his ill health, was obliged to give up farming. So he returned to his father's home in Fillmore county, where he died April 9, 1884.
