FRENZIED FINANCE BY A BOY

Keeps Up Continuous Car Ride With a Nickel and Nerve.

A small boy who recently moved to Minneapolis from the country has discovered a method by which he can ride all over Minneapolis in street cars and do it all day for a nickel. The lad had a great desire to see the city. He had only a "nickel" capital, but used his wits.

The boy got on a Merriam Park car and rode to Midway, transferred to the interurban and rode as far as Oak street, where he took a transfer to the Oak and Harriet line, then took a Fifth street transfer and went back to Merriam Park on the interurban, transferring to the Merriam Park car completing the loop.

After he had ridden to his heart's content the lad told one of the conductors how he worked the company. He explained that where obliged to pay another fare he would sit down beside some one who had not paid his fare and sell him the transfer for a nickel. The payment of cash would entitle him to another free ticket.
