SAYS SHE IS TIRED OF DOING ALL THE WORK Wife Declares Husband Will Not Work and That He Is Jealous. Mrs. Marie A. Cleveland who conducts a boarding house on Nina avenue, yesterday commenced an action for divorce in the district court, alleging against her husband as ground for seeking separation cruel and inhuman treatment and an indisposition to work. In her complaint, filed yesterday, Mrs. Cleveland says she was married to Charles F. Cleveland, Oct. 23, 1890, at which time the said Charles was earning good money as a railroad brakeman. He continued to work until two and a half years ago, says Mrs. Cleveland, but since then he has refused to do anything in the manual labor line, but has depended upon her to support him and buy his clothing. She did this with the proceeds of her boarding house, but even with this snap her husband refused to assist in the small work about the house, and this was more that the wife could stand for. Mrs. Cleveland says her husband not only refused to work, but that his jealousy of her was of such a nature that her life was made miserable, and, she says, when it reached a point where she could not talk to her boarders and other friends without her husband becoming jealous and cursing her, she decided it was time to quit, and yesterday commenced an action for divorce. |
