CHURCH COUNCIL TO OPEN.

Annual Address of Bishop Edsall This Morning.

At 10 o'clock this morning there will begin in the Gethsemane church in Minneapolis the fifty-first annual council of the Episciopal diocese of Minnesota. Questions of unusual importance are to be discussed. The council will extend over two days. Thursday the question of episcopal assistance will probably be discussed, which will be brought about by petitions to Bishop Edsall, asking for a division of the diocese with a coadjutor bishop to be located in St. Paul. Bishop Edsall will preside at the opening of the council this morning and at this service he will bless certain memorials which have been placed in the chancel to the memory of John E. Black, Edward H. Holbrook and Ogden T. Tuttle, who during their lives were members of the Gethsemane parish. At 1 o'clock luncheon will be served in the parish house. A business session will be held this afternoon. At 8 p. m. there will be a missionary meeting with addresses from missionaries in the field.
