CUT THROAT; IS LOCKED UP.

Man Who Attempted Suicide Sent to St. Peter.

Edward McLaughlin, 1501 Fourth street northeast, Minneapolis, who attempted to slash his own throat from ear to ear a month ago with a large knife, has been sent to the hospital for the insane at St. Peter. He has been acting strangely for several months, but no particular attention was paid to him until he attempted to take his own life. He has been in St. Mary's hospital and upon being released yesterday was taken before Commissioner W. E. Bates and examined as to his sanity, being pronounced insane. He is forty-five years old.
