SENDS PILLOW TO CONVICT.

Colored Chicago Detective Complies With Allen's Request.

Sheriff John Wagoner is in doubt as to what disposition he will make of a fine feather pillow received from Chicago for Jim Allen, the negro who broke jail and is now an inmate of the state prison. When Allen was captured in Chicago by Detective Parker, also colored, he requested the officer to be sure to send the pillow to St. Paul. The contents of the pillow appear to be only feathers.

The sheriff doesn't know whether Allen would be permitted to use the pillow in the state prison.
